As one of Maryland’s 19 Youth Services Bureaus, EBCC operates the East Baltimore Youth and Family Services Bureau, (EBYFS) a voluntary and community-based prevention and early intervention program located on the campus of Sojourner-Douglass College in Baltimore City. The Youth and Family Services Bureau provides counseling and support services for youth under 18 years of age and their families, with the goal of promoting youth development and preventing juvenile delinquency. EBYFS also provides youth and their families with cultural activities, employment opportunities, and educational referrals.

Our partners include the Department of Juvenile Services, Parole and Probation, the Baltimore City Child Protective Services, and other community-based programs.

EBYFS is dedicated to helping youth acquire goals, accept discipline and stay focused.

Services provided by EBYFS include:

Family Counseling by professional trained counselors who help families come together in open and honest communication.
Individual Counseling for youths who are experiencing difficulties with their families, schools, or community.
Teen Co-ed Groups, where youths and peers share their viewpoints and experiences about behaviors and development behaviors.
Youth Advocacy, promoting community awareness and positive action to meet the needs of youth.
Substance Abuse Screening for families dealing with substance abuse issues by assisting them through the evaluation and referral process.
Parenting Groups to assist families with the skills and techniques of parenting through engaging them in group discussion to decrease physical confrontation between parent, and child promote positive parenting.

After school enrichment and academic services
HIV/Aids prevention services
Specialty services for disruptive youth
