JOB DESCRIPTION

BILLING REGISTRAR

 

Responsible To:        The Billing Registrar is responsible to the Office Manager.

 

Characteristics of Position:            Maintain active and closed accounts of Reflective clientele and examine items for correct processing.  Ability to exercise independent judgment.  Responsible for bookkeeping and related clerical work.

 

Duties:                       Review and check for mathematical accuracy and completeness of financial documents and reports such as invoices, vouchers, receipts, requisitions, benefits claims, reports from field personnel and miscellaneous statements and certificates.  Update on a daily basis all clients accounts and generate delinquent notices as needed.  Maintain essential records and files.  Prepare receipts and totals at the end of each billing day.  Submit monies received to the Corporate Office twice weekly.  Perform other necessary duties as required.

 

Knowledge & Skills:           Elementary knowledge of accounting procedures used in keeping financial records and checking financial documents, bookkeeping principles, methods and procedures.  Maintenance of a double entry set of books, preparation of trail balances; reconciliation of bank accounts and modern office routines, equipment and machines.  Ability to make calculations quickly and accurately by hand and by use of calculating machines.  To comprehend, remember, and carry out oral and written instructions. To learn  procedures quickly from oral and written explanation or demonstration; to assist in the compilation of data and preparation of financial and other important statements. To help maintain necessary records and files; to work harmoniously with co-workers and to instruct others in the performance of billing duties and responsibilities.

 

Minimum Qualifications:   High School graduate or equivalency and one year of clerical experience which includes working with the public and handling cash transactions.  Completion of a course in bookkeeping principles.
